We need your RSVP in order to make the April Crawfish Social with AAF-New Orleans happen! In order to reserve a bus for transportation, we need to know we will be able to fill it. Here are the event details:
DATE: Thursday, April 19, 2012
WHERE: The Rusty Nail, New Orleans
TIME: The bus will leave at 6:00pm from the Office Depot parking lot at I-10 & Siegen to go to the Rusty Nail. The bus will leave the Rusty Nail at 10:30pm to arrive back in Baton Rouge around midnight.
COST: $30.00 per person. Includes: cost of bus, crawfish and keg beer.
Members are welcome to bring guests at $30.00 per person. This is first come first serve reservation. Right now we need to know if you can commit in order for us to reserve the bus. Your RSVP is a guarantee you will pay for your spot.

The American Advertising-Baton Rouge is currently accepting entries for the 2012 Ralph Sims Award, honoring lifetime achievement in advertising education. Ralph Sims was a member of AAF-Baton Rouge from 1965 till 2009. He served as President in 1967-68 and was honored with the Pete Goldsby Award in 1973. Prior to retiring, Sims worked as Senior Vice President of Marketing at Fidelity National Bank. In honor and recognition of Mr. Sim’s achievements and contributions to our organization, the AAF-BR presents an annual award of excellence to an advertising professional in the Baton Rouge area who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and mentoring of area college and university students in the fields of advertising, design and related fields. Previous winners of the award were Mr. Sims in 2008, Karen Gaupp-Wozniak in 2009, Al McDuff in 2010 and Otey White 2011. The award will be presented at the May 6 “Salute to Students” luncheon at Juban’s.
Each nomination must include a formal letter of recommendation explaining the characteristics worthy of this honor, along with at least three (3) statements from past interns or former students. The deadline for entries has been extended to Friday, April 13, 2011 and should be submitted by e-mail to Connie McLeod.
Know an AAF member who would make a good leader? Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012-13 AAF-BR Board of Directors. Members in good standing may nominate fellow members through March 16, 2012. Nominators and board candidates must be current AAF-BR members.
