Digital media analyst and content writer, Octagon Media

Chelsea Chifici is a fourth generation Mexican-American graduate from Louisiana State University with a BA in
English. She is the digital media analyst and content writer for Octagon Media. She curates social media posts for various companies and writes and proofreads everything that leaves Octagon’s door. In addition, she handles networking, public relations and proposals. In her free time, she enjoys photography, kayaking the lakes with her dog, Asher, and seeking adventure. She developed a strong sense of devotion for social media, marketing, and advertising when backpacking around the globe. While traveling through Australia, Asia, Europe, and Canada, she engulfed herself in the various cultures she experienced. This adventure gave her the appreciation needed for the type of diversity and inclusiveness that she wanted to bring back to her hometown. As a member of various organizations in Baton Rouge, Chelsea makes it a priority to learn more about the various ways she can give back to the community. Chelsea would make a great candidate for the AAF-Baton Rouge board because she believes in this city, in its people, and desires to make a difference within the community.

General Sales Manager, WVLA

Trista Henson is the General Sales Manager with Nexstar Media Group, Inc. in Baton Rouge for WGMB-TV FOX44/WVLA-TV NBC Local 33/WBRL-TV CW21/KZUP-TV Z19/brproud.com. Trista received a BA in Advertising from the School of Mass Communications at Texas Tech University in 1994.

While maintaining the focus of being a career loving parent of 2 fabulous kids, Colin-14 and Teagan-12, she has spent the last eight years leading the local and national sales efforts for both TV and digital advertising. Trista believes that as local businesses grow through the utilization of good advertising campaigns, the community grows as well.

As one of the few to work in the same field for which she earned her degree, she credits her achievement in doing so to her previous involvement as a President of the TTU AAF Student Chapter and the AAF National Student Advertising Competition. She truly understands how important AAF is for the advertising community and the benefit AAF is to fostering new talent for the future.

Graphic Designer, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital

Timothy Samaha is the senior graphic designer at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. He is currently art directing the interiors of the freestanding children’s hospital slated to open in 2019. In his four years at the system, Timothy has won numerous Addy Awards and a HOW Magazine In-House design award, as well as over twenty industry-specific honors. In November 2016, he was awarded “Creative Director of the Year” by the Louisiana Hospital Public Relations and Marketing Association. He recently served on the AAF-BR board as Student Outreach co-chair from 2016–2018.

Graphic Designer, BASF Corporation

As a graphic designer on the BASF Communications team, Vitalija produces a variety of design projects maintaining BASF brand, illustrations, print, multimedia campaigns, and photography. Born and raised in Lithuania, Vitalija has found another place to call home in Louisiana. After spending some time working professionally in the Netherlands, she returned to her “Southern Home” in Baton Rouge to join the Xdesign team, and later BASF Corporation as an in-house designer.

Vitalija has a passion for using her design skills to help others. In the past few years, she has served as AAF Baton Rouge Communications co-chair in 2016 and currently is serving as Membership co-chair. She is honored to be considered again for a position on the AAF Board of Directors. Her unique background, wide range of experience and hard-working attitude make her a great addition to the team. She actively seeks out ways to build on her already extensive set of design skills through freelance projects and collaborations, which ensures that she will always have innovative ideas to bring to the table.

Graphic Designer, Rebel Graphix

My past two years working on the AAF-BR Board of Directors has been a pleasure. It has brought me challenges and opportunities to improve my leadership skills and to become a better communicator.

My passion for advertising and great design drew me to the AAF-BR Board and I look forward to continuing to contribute to work that promotes our AAF-BR community. If elected, I will continue to bring an analytical approach and innovative ideas to our club in order to create rewarding and valuable experiences for our membership.

As lead graphic designer and production manager with Rebel Graphix, I have become accustomed to working with a team to deliver exceptional quality work in a fast pace environment and that is exactly what I will continue to bring to the board. Having been fortunate enough to work with and become friends with so many professionals in the Baton Rouge advertising community through AAF-BR. This is a group of friends I hope never to lose while continuing to spread the same welcoming camaraderie I’ve found.

Art Director, Lamar Graphics

My name is Jay Watson and I’m an Art Director in my 13th year at Lamar Graphics. I’m an Army veteran, a problem solver, and one of the craftiest people you’ll ever meet.

Since joining AAF-BR I’ve been active with the Addys decor, creating such 3D props as the CLUE sculpture, the Prom Night thrones, and Bertha the circus performer. This past year I’ve most likely greeted you as I’m wrangling the name tags at each of our luncheons.

I’m looking to increase my level of commitment to help continue raising our club up to the next level. It would be an honor to serve as a member of the Board, so I am asking for your vote.

Creative Director, Country Roads Magazine

Having been a member of BR-AAF for the last 8 years or so, I’ve met great friends and peers in the advertising industry here in Baton Rouge. My involvement has slowly grown over the years as I’ve volunteered for several committees and other events for Adfed as well as helped out one of the past presidents with his design needs. I am currently the Creative Director for Country Roads Magazine and I love every minute of my job! Some of my past experiences include moving from Junior Designer to Co-Art Director at a local advertising agency, and managing the marketing department as the Communications Coordinator for a local credit union. Each new experience is another skill set learned and something that I like to bring to the table in each new endeavor. My down time is usually filled with drawing, painting, watching Netflix, playing board games, reading and going on adventures with my husband and friends. People usually consider me to be a happy person and I’m always happy to expand my social circle!
