BBR, an award-winning, full-service advertising firm based in Lafayette, LA, is seeking a full-time Media Buyer to provide strategy and placement for traditional and digital marketing and advertising initiatives, with a heavy emphasis on digital. The Media Buyer reports to the Media Director and works closely with the Digital and Accounting Departments.

The ideal candidate is well-versed in marketing principles and media tactics and is interested in various media platforms and technologies. The position requires an individual with strong attention to detail as well as proficiency with numbers and billing. The Media Buyer must be personable, professional, well-organized, deadline-driven and budget-conscious, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong team-player skills are a must, as is the ability to manage multiple clients concurrently in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct research for media planning—including readership surveys, circulation and trade figures, web analytics, audience tracking and television and radio ratings
• Develop campaign strategy with account team for campaign deployment
• Communicate media strategy and plans to clients
• Communicate with media vendors regarding file requirements, media availability and ad rates
• Place media using media software to issue insertion orders and confirm placements
• Placement of digital media using Facebook Business Manager, Google, Bing, LinkedIn and programmatic radio
• Monitor paid media placements to ensure accuracy and effectiveness; work with vendors and within platforms to resolve issues
• Provide strategic allocation recommendations for client budgets and maintain expenditures
• Keep detailed records of media purchases, and report on expenses and schedules related to media buys
• Optimization and reporting on a monthly basis for all traditional and digital placements
• Manage all aspects of invoicing for media, including invoice reconciliation and posting

Work Requirements:

• Degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising or 3-5 years experience in media buying or sales
• Candidates must be available to work 40 hrs/week in our Lafayette or Baton Rouge office
• Knowledge of Google Ads, Facebook Business Manager, Bing and LinkedIn Campaign Manager
• Experience in traditional and digital media buying

 

Things That Are a Plus:

• Knowledge of syndicated tools used by media buyers, including systems like FreeWheel (formerly Strata), Media Force and comScore
• Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
