Welcome to the club!
We are thrilled to have you join us this year, and I am thrilled to have the privilege of being your president of AAF-BR! This amazing community of creative professionals has given me a sense of belonging and purpose that I hope you too will find in our organization.
We are coming off a great year, having placed in all five of the AAF National Club Achievement categories. This year, we plan to continue building on our successes with our many great programs. Last year’s annual Student Conference was the best yet and this year, with our all-new Student Chapter at Nicholls University, we look forward to connecting and developing even more students. We have now had two years of successful Create-a-Thons, with four different agencies helping three local non-profits. This year we will strive to engage even more agencies.
We are excited to announce that our monthly speaker luncheons are back at the newly renovated Juban’s Restaurant & Bar. For many years Juban’s was a staple for our club and I know that for many of us it will feel like finally coming home. I hope you will join us in a celebratory return on September 16th.
Along with our monthly speakers, we also hope to foster our adfed community with monthly socials and many volunteer opportunities. I would like to encourage you to check out our full calendar of events and save the dates.
This year our goal of continuing growth and development cannot be achieved without the help of every member. Our incoming board of directors has been tasked with fostering relationships and creating new opportunities to better serve our Baton Rouge community. With that in mind, I am asking you to help keep our community thriving. I encourage you to come out and bring your newest interns and oldest industry friends. Please consider contributing your time and talent to creating an ever-better AAF-BR!
